Basic Info
Name:Revan C. Regardie
Location:Inland Empire, California, United States
Bio
Revan n : derives from the word revenant, a corpse that has been reborn to avenge its death according to medieval mythology; a vengeful wraith.

Born on the 17th of June, I have been involved in metaphysics and the occult since the age of six. I've spent most of my early life traveling all across North America and Europe in pursue of knowledge, development of my inner senses, and finding answers to the great mysteries of life and human existance. I have many faces that I bear... the face of a philosopher, the face of an actor, photographer, film maker, entrepreneur. I'm quite the Jack of All Trades really, but the face that I like to bear most... is that of a Teacher.

I'd like to welcome you to the Rufum Oparum blog. The title comes from the four stages of the Alchemical Great. "Rufum Oparum "is Latin for "The Red Work," the hidden goal of every man, woman, and child in the realm of matter.

Alchemists long ago separated the Great Work into three (and sometimes four) phases, the Black Work, the White Work (here some inserted the Teal or Green Work), and the Red Work. The colors were the colors the Philosopher's Stone turned at various stages of its development. During the Black Work, the impurities rose to the surface and were charred black. Under the proper circumstances, the Stone would then turn White, then pass through "Green" (the myriad of hues of a peacock's feather) on its way towards the Red stage, when the Stone was complete.

That is my goal, to reach the Red Work, and this blog is going to record my thoughts, ideas, and experiences along the way. I hope to play the Hierophant here, or at least to record the wanderings of one Hermit and his experiences. I figure I'm still at the Black stage, and I've got quite a ways to go before I get to Red, if I ever do, but I have no qualms in striving.
